teams FAQ

Q: What are Events and Event Types?

A: Events and Event Types serve to facilitate the organization of athletes’ times by drill and training sessions. Events can be created on the TEAMS portal or via your mobile app when logged into TEAMS. Should you be conducting multiple drills with the same group of athletes, it is advisable to establish an event with the corresponding event type for each drill, along with the date of the training session.

For instance, if you are executing a 40-yard dash and a 5-10-5 drill within your class, you should create two distinct events, designated as Feb25_40yd of type “TRAIN40YD“ and Feb25_Agility of type “TRAIN5105“.

During testing, select the event that aligns with the drill being administered and assess your athletes, ensuring to scan the wristbands prior to each run. The athletes' names and times will be recorded in the scoresheet of the selected event. Thus, all 40-yard dashes will be systematically organized under the Feb25_40yd event, while all 5-10-5 drills will be cataloged within the Feb25_Agility event.

Within the TEAMS portal, you have the capability to filter runs by Event Type, date, participant, and more. This feature enables comprehensive analysis of performance over time for the same event type. For instance, one can observe the 28-day running average for the 40-yard dash for a specific athlete or export all 5-10-5 results for the entire class within a designated date range.

Q: How long will the data be kept in the Teams cloud? Will the data be accessible after the wristband expires?

A: The data for each athlete that runs with a wristband will be preserved in the Teams cloud until you delete it, regardless of the expiration date of the wristband.

Q: Can I use the TEAMS portal and the timer without the wristbands?

A: Yes, but the scoresheets on the TEAMS portal won’t get updated with run results. You must scan a wristband at least once a day in order to enable results for that athlete to upload to the TEAMS portal
