Access Code
You can decide who gets access to reset the time on all phones, change the mode, or add penalties by setting the Access Code. The default access code is "1234" which is also the default code programmed on all iOS and Android apps so by default anyone with the ArenaGear app can access and reset the timer. If you want to change the access code to prevent spectators from resetting the time, changing the penalties, etc. follow this procedure:
1. Turn ON the “START” gray Timer and start the app on your phone. Click on the gears button to show the Settings screen. Note: You must turn off all black “TX” Timers and stand right next to the “START” Timer.
2. Press the "Change Access Code" button on your app.
3. Click on "Reset Access Code"
4. Enter a new access code (0000-9999) and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to follow the instructions precisely or the code won't be changed. This procedure changes the Access Code on the “START” gray Timer.
After the code change, only those who know the new code and enter it in their own App can do a global reset, enter penalties, or change timer parameters. All others without the Access Code can only read the time on their own phone. We recommend resetting the Access Code for an official event and sharing it only with those who might need access, such as judges and other officials.
To allow selected phones access to administrative functions, go to the Settings screen on those devices and use the Change Access Code button to enter the New Code, but this time enter the new code on the first screen. There is no limit on the number of selected devices with administration privileges, but you should make sure that timer parameters are not set simultaneously from more than one device at a time.
If you forget the Access code, you must perform the Reset Access Code procedure. This will change the code of the timer box and possibly prevent other phones access until the code is changed on those devices as well.
